Rolls-Royce The Kerala Connection

Rolls-Royce and Kerala: A Luxurious Connection Rolls-Royce, the iconic British luxury car and aero-engine manufacturer, was founded in 1904 by Charles Rolls and Henry Royce in Manchester, England. Renowned for blending craftsmanship, elegance, and engineering excellence, the brand quickly became synonymous with prestige and performance. Their first production car, the 10hp, laid the foundation for what would become one of the most revered automotive brands in the world. The Kerala Connection: Nilambur Teak in Rolls-Royce While Rolls-Royce's roots are firmly planted in the UK, there’s an intriguing connection to Kerala, India — specifically through the prized Nilambur teak wood. Harvested from the forests of the Nilambur region, this teak is celebrated for its durability, fine grain, and rich color. According to a report by  The Times of India , Rolls-Royce has sourced Nilambur teak for interior detailing in select models, such as the Ghost series. This collaboration showcases the b...

Retirement of Kohli and Rohit Sharma from Test Cricket

🇮🇳 The Test isn’t over for India. And no, I don’t just mean the format. This is the thing with us Indian fans—our love for cricket runs so deep, it turns into emotional chaos. One loss and it's heartbreak. One win and we’re building statues. We had legends before—Kohli, Dhoni, and the greats of the past. We’ll have legends again. Cricket didn’t begin with them, and it won’t end with them. The jersey remains. The fight continues. 💙🏏 #IndianCricket #BleedBlue #Kohli #MSD #CricketLove #EmotionalFans #TestContinues

THIRTYFY GENE HYPOTHESIS

What we are talking here is often referred to as the "thrifty gene hypothesis." This theory suggests that, during times when food was scarce (like famines), human bodies evolved to store fat and sugar very efficiently to survive long periods without food. Our ancestors who could store more energy were more likely to survive tough times — so over thousands of years, these "thrifty" genes became more common. But now, in modern times — where food is abundant and physical activity is low — those same genes that once helped us survive are causing problems like obesity, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes. And yes, India has indeed been called the "diabetes capital of the world" — especially Kerala, where diabetes rates are even higher than the national average. This could be due to a mix of factors: Genetic predisposition (those thrifty genes) Changes in diet (more refined carbs, sugars, processed foods) Reduced physical activity Urbanization and stress So...
Yet another malayalam movie, "CBI Ramachandran Retired SI". I can vouch than no other language in the whole world can boast of taking a movie without a Superstar or star ensamble. A simple movie with again a great story with an excellent narration. The screenplay is so good that, the entire movie is not at all dragging and on top of it gripping to the end. As usual the actors, Kalabhavan Shajon, Biju, and the other cast's has done jusitce to thier roles. Another revolution happening to the malayalam movie is the second generation. Sanoop Sathyan, son of Sathyan Anthikad has done an excellent craftman ship as the director. Today if you take the second generation of Malayalam film indurstry almost all of them have made a stamp of his/her own.  Coming back to the movie, it revolves around a murder mystry and how Ramachandran Retired SI solves the case. It's a make belief story, even then it has been scripted so good and well Directed. The background score is delicately ...

Propinquity- A must for a salesman.

Medical Representative- The Fulcrum of the Company'

I am a second-generation Pharmaceutical employee, because of my father. He worked in an Indian Company which is now more than 150 years old for 42 years ( Can anybody Imagine now?.) My father was a Medical Representative for 35 years and the company could not terminate him (Joking) because he was doing the so called "Targets" month after month, but will not go to the field. The Doctor's and the stockist's use to come to our home those days. A doctor would ask for a course of Antibiotic (Cephalexin) which was considered as the ultimate in community acquired infection and he would give 2 strips of 2 capsules and ask the Doctor to buy the rest from the medical shop. I do not now it was his arrogance, or it was the way the Doctor's respected him those days. The company promoted him as Sales Manger in it's Kochi Depot and he continued to work for another 7 years. He was handling the entire state of Kerala, the M.R's, Managers and even in the month end he was as...

Education- A turn around

The new model of education world wide has improved a lot. With only giving case studies and debating or discussing to find out practical answers. I had been to IIM Ahmedabad for a 3 Tier course in PGDSE and it was only case studies learning. Just one case is given in the morning and we can debate, self learn, unlearn and learn, and many more ways of education.Bookish learning is outdated, if you ask me.  The greatest example I can quote is my elder brother. A below average student, due to family pressure had to complete a degree. Bsc Zoology with Chemistry and Botany as subsidiary's. Second year could not pass Chemistry ( The irony  is our Grand dad was an MA Chemistry the Dean of Madras University pre- independence day). Somehow managed to scrape through in the last chance and got the Bsc Degree. in the meantime he had written CDSE ( Combined Defense Service Examination). He got through and joined in Indian Navy. There was another test called as PABT ( Pilot aptitude and batt...
